Christmas with the Andersons

The sitcom presents American life and habits at the beginning of the ’60s. The main character is a little boy called Louie, who struggles to fit in but also is loved by his friends and family. The Christmas habits in the Anderson family are a little bit strange but also authentic. They are strange because of Andy (Louie’s father). He was a veteran of World War II and he always brings those things up, like when the family was searching for a Christmas tree, Andy said that “ why is this tree this expensive (25$). It's gonna dance for us?” 😊). Also, he was very strict with the presents, but at the end of the day he gave some lovely presents to his kids. On the other hand, Louie’s mom was the perfect mom. On Christmas eve, she helped Mrs. Stillman to buy all of her needs, and in the meantime, Andy and Louie decorated Mrs. Stillman’s house. The point is that the Christmas episode of Life with Louie, shows we love, carrying people. I think nowadays people are more selfish and they do not have the intention to help others in need.

Mrs. Stillman’s house decoration

While Ora Anderson (Louie’s mother) brought Mrs. Stillman shopping she asked Andy to decorate Mrs. Stillman’s house because she was alone. As always, at first, he complained about it, but then they did an amazing job. As you remember there was a whole group of friends who helped with the decorations. At that time the only happiness for kids on winter break was to play in the snow. They gathered together and played so many games outside, nowadays kids don’t even know what's like to play in the snow, or build a snowman.

And it's sad that they have no clue how fun it is At that time those were the moment when kids built strong relationships, long-lasting relationships. Nevermind… at the end of the day, they did an amazing job, of course, thanks to Andy. He decorated his house in 5 minutes, but when it comes to helping someone in need, he gave 1000% and made Mrs. Stillman’s Christmas memorable.

I hope you all enjoyed watching Louie, and I hope all of you had an amazing Christmas with your family.
