The truth behind Garfield’s lasagna-craziness

Is it made safe for cats? How many calories does his lasagna count? What is the cost of it? You’ll get the right answers to these questions, and more silly facts about his food, only if you continue reading. : )

There are two typical certainties that come through everyone’s mind if he thinks about Garfield: he hates Mondays more than me, and he’s head over heels for lasagna. However, he could’ve been able to choose anything of all the world’s foods, and I’m curious, why he chooses lasagna still.

Garfield consistently steals Joe’s meal

Why does Joe after all these years always providing lasagna at home, knowing that it will disappear anyway?! Maybe he’s stuck in a parallel universe, where he has no other choice, but always replacing the missing lasagna, or he’s just really loving his cat and doesn’t want to take notice if it would make Garfield less inhabited. Well, any of these scenarios seem to be bad investments.

Some of the foods that cats should not eat

Obviously, lasagna is one of them. Cats are not allowed to consume onions or any dairies in excess. Of course, these two are the main ingredients when making lasagna. The fact that clearly approves, that our favorite cat is blessed with supernatural abilities and does not give a damn about the rules of eating healthy or doing a balanced lifestyle.

The mesmeric detail: calories

When Garfield eats lasagna, he is not courting, he actually gobbles everything found in the pan. He’s absolutely not thinking of putting slices aside for later. As such, we can determine the calories he’s consuming using a family-sized frozen meal as a reference. Frozen lasagna includes five servings, and each of them contains approx. 270 calories. This means that Garfield consumes a minimum quantity of 1350 calories every time he eats Joe’s stolen lasagna. An average cat is required to eat around 500 calories a day, but as we already realized, he is so out of common.

Costs of it

If Jon makes lasagna at least once a week, that’s 15$ for the six necessary, fresh ingredients of a family-sized lasagna. Over the course of a year, it costs around 760$ or 380$ if he’d choose to buy the frozen one, instead of cooking the home-made version. Knowing that Garfield has been running since 1978, calculate the total financial investment in lasagna.
