Do you remember the first girly spy series? Let’s refresh our memories a bit before we start talking about the spy life in more detail!
Totally Spies is about three high school girls living a double life. In addition to their schooling, Alex, Clover, and Sam are secret spies at WOOHP (World Organization Of Human Protection) agency. Jerry is the mentor of the girls, he is the coordinator who sends them on missions and provides special equipment for every intricate case.

Clover - She's long, lean, and loves to kick butt. Clover is totally addicted to shopping and she falls in love more often than she changes her socks! You can count on Clover to always jump to the rescue - even if it means putting herself in danger.
Alex - Alex is a bit younger than her crime-fighting pals, but that doesn't mean she isn't just as eager to show the bad guys who's boss. Sure, she gets tricked once and a while by the villains, but her caring, good-natured attitude helps the team prevail each time.
Sam - Practical and dependable, Sam is the one who uses logic and common sense to defeat evil. She's super smart, calm, and collected, which helps the girls stay grounded even in the middle of sticky situations.

Something is missing, isn’t it?
There is always someone who makes the life of good characters miserable and in this case, her name is Mandy. She is constantly looking for ways to make Clover, Alex, and Sam look bad - especially in front of their friend David.
Now that we have refreshed our memories, we will present you with some rarely heard facts about Totally Spies:
1. Totally Spies Were Meant To Be Evil
The French cartoon “Totally Spies” was conceptualized to start with a three-piece girl band to promote it. A panel of judges selected a group, which released a single (the theme song) in 2002. They were supposed to release a full album and promote them as bad, but the idea never became reality.

2. The Theme Song is Actually a Girls Aloud Song
The theme song for “Totally Spies” is actually a version of the Girls Aloud song “Here We Go” with the lyrics changed to be related to the show. The original song is decidedly unsuitable for a children’s cartoon, with many adult references throughout the lyrics.

When the show was first being pitched, studios weren’t exactly crazy over the idea, but once the show aired it was alongside other girl power properties, like the theatrical release of Charlie’s Angels and that boosted their ratings.
4. The Boys Loved It as Much as The Girls

The viewership was split 50-50 all over the world. This was the biggest surprise to series creators, who assumed their male audience would be very low.
5. Totally Spies The Movie
In 2009 a Totally Spies feature film was released as a prequel to the series. The movie presented how the girls met. It never received a theatrical release in America, but it was broadcast the next year on television.
